Ankuram – A Shishu Mandir

Dear friends,
We are creating a school!
Ankuram – A Shishu Mandir
A unique Temple for Children dedicated purely towards their innocence.

What is the Ankuram way?
– Respect towards all that one sees and senses
– Gratitude for all that one comes across in life.
– Being a Good, Caring, Compassionate human, above anything else.

Why this school?
We have gone too far away from Nature and in turn, our True selves!

What kind of school is this going to be?
– Self sustained and integrating the natural surrounding: from which the children observe and learn
– A space that includes and respects each and every kind of child
– Where the children are given the freedom and space to express themselves, allowing their inner true self to bloom.
– They explore the Universe outside and that within
– Completely experiential learning at individual pace.
– Where Innocence and curiosity are nourished

Our Foundation
Self-exploration, Simplicity, Freedom, Creative expression and abundance of LOVE

Teachers
– are so full of Awareness, Respect, Patience, Love and understanding of the uniqueness of a child!

As a result
– Children are facilitated to lead a deeper and more meaningful life full of Self-awareness, independent and free-thinking, and Conscious action.

What we love at Ankuram:
– Getting our hands dirty.
– Understanding each other and Laughing out loud.
– Truly learning through experience and insight.
– Keeping the wonder in children alive.
hygiene of the self and surroundings.
– Independence, appreciation and kindness.
Farming, star gazing, day dreaming, playing and creating.
– Being one with Nature

Where literature and love happen under one roof.

How can you help?
– By identifying a suitable land.
– By donating funds/land towards this beautiful cause.
– By sharing your skills and resources.

For this we require 1 Acre of land in the outskirts of Coimbatore city. An approachable and green space, away from the hustle and bustle.

This project is a garden for children to bloom as Evolved Beings.
A new World is being created.
Please come together to share your loving kindness.

AIM For Seva

The All India Movement (AIM) for Seva is a NGO involved in providing value-based education to rural and tribal children across India.

Our story began in 2000 with a deep understanding of rural India’s problems: be it the commuting long distances to schools, domestic pressure or lack of extra-curricular activities in education. We thus proposed a unique solution that has now brought the school to the child’s doorstep: AIM for Seva Free Student Hostels (FSH) is a residential facility in proximity to the schools. This enables for easy access, enhancing the quality of education through tuitions, providing life skills and an environment that is conducive to learning. All these facilities are provided at no cost to the students including boarding, lodging, books, uniforms, school fees and more. AIM for Seva is entirely supported by corporate and individual donors.

The Stem Cell Registry

Stem Cells from adult donors help Indians with blood cancer, Thalassemia and immune deficiency diseases. See more about the eligibility. To become a donor, first join the registry through this online form.

If you know of anyone organizing a blood camp, write to Jeevan or call +91 44 4350 4246 and ask them to send their team over to collect blood and DNA samples for their registry. Sponsors are always welcome and earn the undying gratitude of the many people whose lives can be saved.

Every year over 120,000 Indians are diagnosed with blood cancers and another 10000 children are born with diseases like Thalassemia. They can hope for a 60 to 80% chance of cure, if they find matching stem cell donors. The chance of finding a donor in the family is less than 30%. The match is highly ethnicity dependent and hence the chance of finding a match in an Indian registry is over 70%..

Stem Cells from donated cord blood can help children with a body weight less than 30 Kg. Other patients will need a larger number of cells and that can only be obtained from a donor either as Peripheral Blood Stem Cell (PBSC) donation or Bone Marrow Donation.

Bone Marrow Registry is a database of potential stem cell donors, whose Human Leucocyte Antigen (HLA) is typed by Jeevan and stored in a server. When a patient needs a donor, the matching donor is identified from the database. He / she is then counseled, medically examined and then encouraged to donate stem cells. These stem cells are used for the treatment of patients.
